Dear Angel and Steve
We have completed our review of your complaint regarding the accusation of theft against [R] by another child in the class. Interviews suggest that the accusation arose following considerable provocation by [R]. This notwithstanding, it is not behaviour we find acceptable. We have made it clear to the child, with the support of the family, that this behaviour must not be repeated and have received clear assurance on this. The child received this information outside the school, something we can have no control over. We now regard this matter as closed.
From past communications, compounded by those of today, it has become clear to us that the school’s policy and procedures relating to anti-violence/student behaviour are unacceptable to you and that you are unable to work constructively with the teachers in upholding the policy and procedures. Our observation of your interactions with the school this week is that this fundamental difference of opinion is causing unacceptable stress to children and teachers.
After careful consideration and consultation, we do not believe a meeting will bring us closer together. We also feel it is in the best interests of you and your family that the children are withdrawn immediately and enrolled in a school more in line with your philosophy. Therefore we will not offer places to you from the end of this week. Please arrange for the return of the key to the hall, which Steve holds.
Yours sincerely
Mark Thornton
