Ostriches and Meerkats

Some people have already sent us feedback and we will post it here.  Where people have asked not to be quoted, we have honoured that but in future reserve the right to quote any correspondence with us, leaving it to contributors to choose whether to be anonymous or transparent, as you desire.

We will use an easy to recognise system of symbols to make it easy to see how opinion is divided.

Opinions that are just damning to us, in denial about bullying at school, or just complacent because their child isn’t getting bullied at the moment, will be marked by an Ostrich. We have not claimed that there is bullying in all classes, or that if there has been, that it has not been dealt with well. What we said, and remember we were kicked out for saying it, is that in Class 3/4, there is serious bullying, that hurts children, and that the school have not made stopping the children being hurt the absolute first priority as per the recommendations of the Children’s Commissioner and the Human Rights Commission.

So if your child isn’t being bullied, and isn’t in that class, please don’t hold other children who might be, hostage to your own good fortune.

Opinions that are open to change in the school, which acknowledge that our children’s human rights have been breached by this action, and/or who simply realise the value of the school’s publicity being accurate, and of the school genuinely becoming a safe place for all children, will be marked by a Meerkat.

(Meerkats are also community minded and protective towards other

meerkats offspring, which we appreciate)

We are currently building this page - so keep that feedback coming.......:-)
